I do not like to do telehealth evaluations; did not realize they were still allowed. I guess that is why I hardly get any referrals. One of my client's told me that he talked to me and someone from Oklahoma. I know I can practice in any state I have a license for, but what does someone in Oklahoma know about our local treatments?

Many SAPs agree with you and continue to do only face to face SAP evaluations. The new rule allows the SAP to chose between face to face and remote virtual assessments. State telehealth guidelines should be followed for remote assessments.

You are indeed limited to the state in which you are licensed. Even then SAPs are responsible for investigating any providers they use, talking to the staff, determining their specialties and limitations. Tamara
